Learning A Little More About Writing -Holly Lisle

I am learning a little more about writing on a daily basis.

The novel is now 20,000+ words long and I was thrilled to learn from Author of 30+ pro-published books, Holly Lisle and others I have been learning from, that this figure falls into the novella status and would possibly attract a publishers eye. I will be happy when it reaches 120 words!

I spent some quality time on her site, it certainly wasn't wasted time either. Her site is packed with advise and information. It is so refreshing to find someone who is so published and well known, willing to be open and honest, caring and sharing.

I have signed up for her newsletters and took a writing quiz to find out what I know about writing, I got 25 out of 60, proving what I already knew, I have a lot to learn. I have never learned how do what I love, so my methods might be holding me back.

Holly offers a free online course Create Your Professional Plot Outline, I signed up for this, as you know I wrote about in a previous write up, the way I created Kitty, well I was so pleased because,I think I was on the right track.

One thing that attracts me to stay on her site and read, is the promise of no spamming, I cannot abide joining something only to have to unsubscribe as I am overun with 'buy this' offers.

About the Author
(Taken from one of her free gifts)

Holly Lisle began writing in 1984, and sold her
first novel in 1991. She went full-time in 1992
with a three-book deal from Baen Books, and has
been supporting herself and her family exclusively
by writing fiction since then (though along with
the “man, are we solvent!” months there have been
a few canned bean months). She has seventeen
books in print and has been published both in the
United States and abroad, in both English versions
and translation. Her most recent novels,
Diplomacy of Wolves and Vengeance of Dragons,
both published by Warner Aspect, debuted at #1 on
the Locus Bestseller list and have a five-star rating
from readers at Amazon.com.

The site is worth putting the kettle on for and having a good read through, I am learning a little more about writing with Holly Lisle and enjoying it.

Hi, Glynis,

That's a wonderful write-up. Thank you. Any chance you remember where you found the bio information, though? At this point, I've published 32 novels and am working on the 33rd, and I'd like to update the old information. (I know it's my site. It's just a really big site, and I've searched it, and I can't find that bio.)

Cheerfully,
Holly
