Patience is...
Required by the man listening to me speaking Greek to explain my Internet connection has gone down again!
Reading my novel and realising I have gone off track slightly and need to get back to the main branch of the story.
For me patience is needed when writing a novel...
I read items that state "Write a novel in 10 days" and "Get published within a month", I am not that author, I am afraid I would never be able to rise to that type of challenge.
I enjoy my slow pace, the planning and the organising. I cannot imagine being rushed to write a 200 page novel in 10 days, for me that would create stress.
I walk away from my characters when they argue with me, if they do not comply with my line of thought I ignore them for a day. Just the thought of not being able to do that would worry me.
This novel will be ready when it is ready, a month, a year, 10 years or 10 months, who knows. I certainly know I want it to have some quality within the pages so it will not be ready in 10 days. I admire anyone who can do this, they must speed write, think and type, abilities I envy.
