Meet The Important Ones!

Published , Prize and Free Blog Items

Yesterday a freak storm brought down our Internet connection again, but here I am ready at the keyboard with some exciting news...well for me anyway.
Sometime ago, I wrote an article about my life here in Cyprus, I collected many comments and was taken by suprise by an author and editor who expressed a keen interest in it.
Myron Edwards (BBC script writer & author of Mistress of the Rock), lives on the island and is the creative director for a magazine, Cyprus Options.

I got an email on Wednesday to say my article had been published in it. This is the second time I have been published in Cyprus, the first being an article about Homebrew Beer in The Exchange and Trading. I am trotting off to town to get a few copies this afternoon.

These are good for me to put into my portfolio, alongside my two nursing articles from a UK nursing magazine. Giving me a total of four published items in two countries.

My second piece of news popped into the comment box in my previous posting.
Author Jennifer Hubbard announce I had won a book that she was recommending it is,Peter Cameron's Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You. My problem sometimes is that living in Cyprus, I miss out on competitions as they are usually US and UK based, so the postage is a problem.
Well at last my son comes in handy after twenty nine years (lol), he lives in Canada and Jennifer will post the book to him, he will bring it over to the UK for my daughter's wedding. How lucky am I? Thank You Jennifer! I can't wait to receive it.

So I am published and have a prize, it certainly uplifts my spirits as I had some nasty shocks yesterday.

Now if any of you have published a book, via publisher or self published, don't forget that New Book Blogger will advertise it for free for you.
Plus if you need photographs for articles, myself and two friends have a blog, Free Picture Catalogue where all photographs are free to download for commercial and private use. The blog is fund-raising for Cancer research.
