Meet The Important Ones!

Rushing Tripped Me Up

I have been working hard on my book over the last few days and became a little cocksure. I started trying to move from one chapter to another a little faster, and also up the speed of my typing. I started rushing through my writing day.

This, I now realise was error on my part.

I had failed to notice that I had auto type on. So words were being automatically added, for example, comfort became comforted. There were many words like this all the way through two chapters!

My second error was to guess. One of my characters is a writer, I gave him a typewriter. I then gave my lastest page to DH to read and he asked "Were typewriter's invented then? I suppose they were, it is the end of the Victorian era".

First thing I did once we got back online was to look this finer point up, like DH, I had assumed that because of the time period that they had been invented.

I was right, they had but my writer would not have been able to afford one, so back to the chapter and changes have been made.

There might have been a typewriter in the office where he worked!

Lizzie, thanks that has helped me out, I hadn't thought of that, I had become blinkered in him as a solo character. I will reel him back into the office :)
