Meet The Important Ones!

Writers Tips and Resources

Today I will have to leave Kitty, her friends and lovers for a birthday BBQ at a friends. I am leaving her lying on the desk, (no that is not a link back to yesterdays posting on writing a sex scene!), I am happy to leave her at home as, this friend is a collector of Victoriana and also has many old reference books, great inspiration for my book.

Not having libraries in Cyprus is the only thing I miss about the UK (children aside).

I will be wined and dined in the sunshine, the relaxing will give me chance to organise my brain for the next chapter. The enviroment will hopefully give me inspiration, the house is on one of the highest points in the next village, overlooking vineyards and orchards.
I will be the perfect guest and do some begging and whining to borrow a book or two.

I spent a few precious moments today searching for writers tips and resources. I went to linkreferral and here is what I found:

Writer's Cramp
-Frank Swales has some useful tips and an interesting website.

Author & Publicist Nikki Leigh has some very helpful information on her website, I downloaded a free sample of her book, it is something for me to consider for the future: Book Promo 101 - Learn the Basics of Book Promotion

I am refreshed and feel I have done a good morning's work.

Ah, Glynis! Your afternoon BBQ sounds just heavenly! The view alone will rejuvenate and inspire you to make one hour at your desk as productive as two or three might have been otherwise.

I am surprised there aren't libraries on Cyprus. When you left the UK, did you ship your personal library to your new home or did you dispose of it? When you need something special, is there a university nearby that you can utilize? It does seem like your hostess will be able to provide you with much, though. I hope it worked out well for you.

Thanks for posting your findings today. You're always inspiring! :)

Thanks Sunflower! I hadn't thought of using a Uni one, mind you it would be 99% Greek. There is an international school with a senior college I might be able to ask about, thanks for the idea.
