Meet The Important Ones!

What Is? Plus: Radio and Bernard Cornwell

What is Genre?
What is WiP?
What is POV?
What is writing in the 3rd person?
What is an agent for?
What is the best way to find a publisher?
What is that symbol?
What is the point of research?

All these questions face a new writer, one who did not go to creative writing classes, one who had basic English lessons.

I came across several 'what is?, questions and here is where I found the answers:

1. Look in my sidebar
2. Scroll down
3. Find - My Followers
4. Click on their faces
5. The Answers are in their blogs!

I read blogs and websites of other authors, I learned so much. Why am I writing in the past tense? I STILL DO.
There is so much information out there and it is passed on from person to person. It is written in their own style, look them up it is worth it.

This website shows you the editorial symbols you might get on your manuscript (MS), if you get it returned by your editor.

Did you know there is a radio station for writers? No? Well here it is: WRITERS FM. I wrote this listening to it, I cannot get English radio where I live, this was a dream find for me.

I listened to an interview with author Bernard Cornwell, the writer of Sharpe series (21 books). It was an interesting interview, he never intends to kill off Sharpe, so I wonder how many more in the series there will be.He left us with little tidbit at the end " Enjoy writing a book, one you would enjoy reading. If you do not enjoy writing a book, you probably shouldn't be doing it".

There was an interesting topic about marketing your book and all this was interspersed with music.
Jean McCloud the author who is 101 years old , (she is Britain's oldest author )was interviewed too.

Hi Glynis,

I agree with you about Writers FM. Karl Moore does very interesting interviews. (I like listening to his voice too!)

Reading other blogs is a great way to learn to write. Something good can be learned from just about everyone out there.
