Meet The Important Ones!

A Light Bulb Moment

I cannot believe what has happened. A few weeks ago, Louie my mentor made a fleeting comment about a letter being found, by a possible new character in my novel. I thought about it and then she said in jest, maybe for your second book. Time passed and nothing more was mentioned, nor did I think anymore about it.
Low and behold! It is 2am, July 5th 2009 and a light bulb lit up inside my head. It spent a moment shining around the hollow space, and finally found my cell. You know, the one I call B R A I N. Well, anyway I found myself slipping out of bed, tip-toeing into my writing den and yes, you guessed it, wrote all the ideas for novel number 2.
I do not want to go down the road of writing 2 side by side, so I must get cracking with the first. I do not want to feel rushed with it, but now need to set some guidelines for myself.
Just as I thought about how to go about it, I received an email from Holly Lisle. (This is not an advert).
Over at her place she has set up a 'Write a Book With Me', motivator. I have joined in with the group and I have now realised I am on the crossroads of writing.
I had to decide, to get a little more serious about my writing, or just plod on regardless.

So... I decided to get a little more serious, writing is my life and I LOVE IT!

Well I am always on the look out for bits and pieces to help me. So here are some I have found that you might find useful or interesting.

I love this positive attitude!

I am not sure I can cope with this!!

OK. I will confess that I'm working on a children's book. The whole idea (light bulb moment) came to me while hiking. I have the text done, and concept pages for the illustrations, but I'm fooling around to see if I have any shreds of artistic talent left to illustrate it myself.

Congrats on your light bulb moment!

I can totally sympathize! I have just finished my first trilogy and am in the process of market research. However, there are at least a dozen other stories floating around in my head, all vying for my attention. All I can do is jot them down, pick the one I feel most passionate about, and run with it!

Good luck with books 1 and 2!

Some good resources. When it comes writing I always have several projects floating around at the same time. I don't think I could settle to writing just one book. I need to be working on several ideas. I think it gives me the variety I need.Everyone is different though.

Glynis,

I wanted to thank you for your nice comments on my blog recently. Yours has some good advice for writers - it's so easy to get distracted with the 'next novel' so your attention isn't focussed on the original. How do you banish the worst detractor from all our efforts - Self doubt?

Thanks for dropping by Lizzie and Anita.
Mmm that old self-doubt...ignore it and have fun.

Ok off to grab a tag!
