Meet The Important Ones!

No Writing Excuses and Thank The Stars

I was bemoaning the cost of notepads and journals here in Cyprus, compared to the UK to DH. In his usual supportive manner, he said I could fill a suitcase with them, when we visit the UK next week. I was lifted by this and carried on scribbling, when he dropped the "Of course if you had a novel inside you in a third world country, it would never get written". I crawled away and found all the scrap paper in the house, used my hole punch, added two pieces of pretty card and thanked my lucky stars.

P.S. I will still buy new ones in the UK, but they will be for final drafts ;)

Nicosia is our city here in Cyprus. From my village it is just over two hours away and can be a long, hot journey. I intend to make that journey soon as look what I found...

American Center, American cultural centre with range of books available to the public for reference.

British Council,British cultural centre, with a wide range of books available to the public for reference.

It will be worth a four hour trip, just to walk into a library in Cyprus. There is one in Paphos, the main town to me and someone has said they are importing English books soon, joy.

Oh and this is why I did not write my WiP today EXCUSE ONE: A WEDDING CARD, EXCUSE TWO, PACKING.

I hope you remember pens and coffee and booze. Oh, I'm sorry, I mean I hope you find lots of paper in your travels and come back home and use it up.

I love my writing notebooks! I actually prefer writing on paper to typing on the computer. Have fun getting some new ones!

Funny- I've almost completely switched to the computer. I never thought that would be true of me, but I have. Enjoy the libraries!

I always write my first ideas down on paper. There is something about a blank piece of paper and a sharpened pencil that inspires me!

Now, as your other half says, in a third world country you wouldn't have paper at all, but being a woman you probably would know how to write so that kind of blows that argument out of the water. LOL I like lots of notebooks too!

I'm a notebook/journal addict! I thought it would help when I learned bookbinding, but alas, I still MUST buy a notebook everywhere I go. It does help that my family and friends know of this addiction and supply me with fresh notebooks for just about every holiday :) Enjoy your trip and may you return with an entire suitcase full of books and journals!
