When I write I have several options of where and how I write. I curl up with my laptop on the sofa, on the sun lounger or under the pergola. I grab a pen and pad, walk to a shady spot in the vineyards and scribble the hours away. I sit at the coffee shop table on a wicker chair, at the dining table or at my desk. One thing I never do is stand up to write.
Apparently Ernest Hemingway, Virginia Woolf and others used stand up desks and wrote. I cannot bring myself to do it, to me it seems unnatural.

Weird. I sit on my bed to write. Mostly because I don't have a desk or have space for one.
I have an office/schoolroom so when we aren't having school I'm here at my big L-shaped desk. Occasionally, when my son is doing his seat work papers I will write in the dining room on my laptop. I would probably be better off standing I get stiff sitting sometimes from my arthritis.
The idea of standing up to write does seem strange, although apparently it's a way to expend more calories than by sitting down...
I'm always at my desk if using the computer, but I can write anywhere in my notebook as long as I have somewhere to sit.
I sit when I write. I write everything out long hand first and then type it later. So I can pretty much write anywhere I want to.
I sit with a coffee cup in one hand and a computer in the other.
I don't think I could write standing up. I do best sitting alone with my computer in my 'writing room.'

I might give standing up a try....but before long I will probably be back in my big comfy chair!
I could never stand and write, but I do get up quite a few times to vacuum or do laundry just to take a break and think.
