My trip to the UK included a few days in a hotel. We were upgraded as we were part of the main wedding party, our room was lovely and the bed was enormous. It was in this bed I got the first few words towards my third, yes third novel. The Book At The Bottom was a title that hit my brain cell a few months ago. I have no idea what the storyline will be, or where this passage will take me.
Will it become linked with my other WIP's and make a trilogy, or will it be a stand alone story?
Who knows? Not even the author has a clue. Anyway here is the piece that was inspired by my hotel bed.
Stephen smiled, his face showed no expression, the smile was an inward smile. As he turned over and stretched his limbs he heard a noise, was it his joints or the springs of this luxurious King sized bed creaking? He spread his arms and legs, star shaped and moved them up and down against the cotton sheets, luxury, pure luxury. Today was his 30th birthday, the feeling of freedom and the luxury of space was a present he appreciated. No cards or ribbons would make the gift any sweeter.
This has led me to other ideas, isn't it funny how we are inspired to write the little things that create the bigger picture.

So true, Glynis, so true!
Part of the magic of being a writer is being able to find the joy in the little things. Best of luck drafting this third novel!
Thanks for your comments.
Glynis,
Now when I read this book, I will think about when and where it all began.
Patiently waiting...
