OK, I will prevent you from breaking your necks and turn my computer the right way around.
Writing from a different angle can be a challenge.

C Patrick Schulze, (Author of Born to Be Brothers), wrote an interesting post and it made me look at my ms again. I followed his exercise challenge and was very pleased with the results. Take a look at “Thou Shalt Remove All Forms of the word, ‘To be.’ Tell him I sent you :)

I have never been a vampire fan, nor watch much TV, but have recently sat with DH and watched a few of the modern films produced. I then read a book or two, including Twilight and from then on ideas have been forming in my head. I keep thinking of ways I could write a vampire fantasy novel.
I have no desire to write one, but the ideas just keep coming. This is the first time I have experienced a change of genre thinking.
My imagination has obviously been alerted to something new and my mind wants me to write something from a different angle. I really wish it would leave me alone to finish the first thing it suggested!

It's interesting how reading different books or watching new types of movies can spark our creativity! And thanks for the link. I'll have to head over--it sounds interesting!

I agree with Jody. It is interesting how we can read something out of our comfort zone and suddenly be inspired. I usually read young adult fantasies but last month I read Little Women for the first time. Guess what? I have a new story idea because of it. Perhaps a change of perspective is just what we need sometimes to get the creative juices flowing again.

have a wonderful weekend,
Jen

Would be interesting to read it if you ever write one. Vampire stories always have the magnetic pull of well, you know, the sexy magnetic one. :)

I love vampire stories. Not sure why. I suppose it all has to do with Brad Pitt being one in Interview With a Vampire ...

Thanks folks!
Jen that is my favourite book and I have a copy that my Grandfather gave my mother, it will get passed onto D1 as she is a book fanatic.
Glad you found something useful here.
