I hate Oh um moments. You know the time when a friends says "Oh, um", when you ask if they like what they read of your work, or what they thought of your work.
The Oh um moment when you are reading a book, a good story and it has a storyline that is close to the one you are writing. You know it is your own work, but this author has written it in her own words...or vice versa, you are writing her work in yours.
The Oh um moment when you wipe out two chapters and cannot retrieve them.
The Oh um moment when someone asks what you do for a living, you know..."Oh um I am a writer".
The Oh um moment when you read your manuscript and you have put mother and son in bed together!
The Oh um moment when you have finished the said manuscript and it is editing time! OH UM...
The Oh Um time when the words just will not flow...
I have had a few Oh um moments this week, but am pleased to say that I am turning them around and moving forward. I have April in my sights for finishing...Oh Um it is nearly March!
What has been your Oh Um this week?

Great post! Made me smile too. Keep up the good work!
Your post made me laugh!!!
I have too many Oh um moments...I couldn't begin to name them. But you did a good job of listing some of the best. LOL!!
I hope March brings fewer Oh um moments to your life, Glynis. :)
Oh um, I know those moments. We all have them, so it's natural for our characters to have them too.
(I couldn't get the video to play for me.)

Oh Um ... this week I just realised how I would prefer to write and read all day rather than do my actual job.
Thanks Rebecca!
Thanks Erin...me too, but with book number 2 ringing in my ears, I fear another Oh Um coming on!
Helen, yes I must give a character an oh um moment! So sorry you could not hear the video...it goes like this...George Bush oh ums all the way through. He does not say a word, he cannot speak!
Loree, I understand!
Glynis your comment section was an Oh um moment for me! I couldn't figure out how to get on here! :)
Oh um...the usual! This week has been full of lessons for life. I'm growing and moving forward, always forward :)
Have a marvelous weekend, Glynis! I do hope all is well.
Jen
Carol, I have been having a few problems with my comments box lately. It moves to the top and the next day it is at the bottom. I will look into it further. I am so glad you made it in through the gates though!!
Onwards and upwards...or forwards Jen! Have a wonderful weekend too!
Love this post Glynis! My Oh um moment this week was when I asked my husband if he wanted to hear the new poem I was working on...
Well I hope he did, WG and I am sure it was a pleasure for him to do so.
My Oh Umm moment was not paying attention and almost letting a store door close on an elderly couple. How embarassing. I've never done that before. I looked back and caught the door, but not before giving the couple quite scare.
Stephen Tremp
Oh Um Stephen! It is horrible when that happens. I am sure they noticed you are a true gent though.
I know just what you mean, Glynis. I've had a few of those lately. :-)
