Meet The Important Ones!

Signs and Prompts

I dropped some papers this week, just scraps nothing special. I had been trying to find the oomph to edit my ms, but decided to clear a shelf instead. The papers scattered across the room, the cat thought it would be great to chase some, and our old dog sat on one. He would not move, he is normally so obedient, but would not shift.
I cleared around him, put the papers away in a file, then went back to tackle the pooch. No budging on his part, so I set up the desk, turned on the computer and went to his biscuit box. He still would not get off the paper, I laughed and picked him up to move him as I wanted to settle down to write.
I could not believe it, he had found four sheets of paper stapled together from an old file of mine. It was a short story I had written several years ago.

I think Jakeyboy was trying to tell me something, because when I read through it, I realised that it would fit into my ms and kick start a dead end! I edited it, and moved it into place, it was a perfect fit. He got an extra treat for giving me a sign, I would not have read it if he hadn't sat on it.

Talking of signs, do you ever see some that just trigger off a story?

If you are looking for inspiration, look at this site Fantastic Fashion over at Polyvore. Collage collections that capture the imagination. I found a few things to help me with Kitty over there.

A great place to visit is 365 Pictures Daily Photo Prompt @ The Creativity Portal, this is a prompt generator, great for triggering the mind into action. There are articles for writers, with tips and ideas.

Glynis, this is awesome! When I read this post I felt physically excited for you! I love that stuff! And when it gets published, clearly you'll have to dedicate your book to Jakeboy...

Thanks Erin, I was dumbfounded. Even DH said it was a sign to move me forward. Yes old Jake will have to have a mention LOL

That's funny! I love it when stuff like that happens. Animals are wiser than we think...

Happy Monday,

Glynis, I think it's great that you found this forgotten material under your dog. Perhaps you need to write a children's book about a psychic dog.

I do this with the newspaper! I play some serious games of what if good and long. It's got me some great plot lines. Thanks for the link to the cool looking fashions, I'll be sure to check it out!

Dogs have a way about them that makes them do things like that. I thought at times that my old dog used to know what I was thinking.
