The Postie Arrived,Time and Awards !

Jessica over @ Alliterative Allomorph gave me an award. Bow, curtsey and slip on my rear end. Thanks to my ...cry, sniff and thanks Jessica!

I have to pass it onto others and they have to go HERE to Advance Booking for their instructions. I think it is 7 I have to award, but I am afraid with my editing time looming, I have to focus. Therefore I will award 3 busy, busy writers who deserve the Prolific Blogger Award.

I pass this award to:
  1. Susan R Mills @ A Walk In My Shoes
  2. Megan @ Megan Rebekah Blogs
  3. Lindsey @ Dangerous With A Pen

Today the postie delivered my prize from MIRANDA NEVILLE. Thank You Miranda! I will be curling up with that very soon during my quiet time.

I received my copy of The Fire In Fiction by Donald Maass, I am looking forward to reading this during my, resource reading time.

My new organised writing time is working so well for me now. I have editing / proofreading time, writing time, research time, resource time and chocolate/wine time...where is the delete button when you want it? Forget the chocolate/ wine time I am on a d...angerous mission.

Where was I? Oh, yes, I have a set time for everything now, I hate routine but have found I need it as a discipline rule or I will flounder with the novel. Which, by the way has a new beta reader and she is brilliant. She is a reader, not a writer and she has picked up on so much. She noticed, typo and grammar errors and she also noticed that I had not put where my POV was centred, I had taken it for granted that my readers all know where the notorious Jack The Ripper did the dirty. A classic case of forgetting my reader cannot read my mind, only my book.
She critiques so well, no pandering to me, she tells me what she as a reader wants from it, and reads only the genre I am writing in. Her points are always valid, she surprised me I will say, but I am grateful to her as it all makes sense.

PS: She loves the manuscript so far, let's hope an agent does. *Smiles*.

Congratulations on the award and glad your test reader loved your story. My test reader picked up on a lot of mistakes as well.

Whenever I see a new award handed out I rush over to check the winners. I've found so many great new blogs from winner links. (I think that's how I found you Glynis, not sure, can't remember now). But these three are all new, so I'm off to check out their blogs! Enjoy your prize book-- always fun to get a book in the mail!

Thank you Helen. I am lucky with this one. The last one shared it with two friends, I was not happy. Luckily it was draft. This one is reading edit 1 and 2 papers. She is also loyal to my privacy.

Thanks for visiting me.
