Living On Hope

H O P E

As writers we live on hope. The word sits in the back of our minds daily. It is a four letter word and this is how I use it.

  • I hope this word is spelt correctly
  • I hope I have not use too many ly and ing words
  • I hope this chapter gets finished soon
  • I hope this character is strong enough
  • I hope my vocabulary is strong enough
  • I hope I can complete this dang thing
  • I hope it is time to walk the dogs
  • I hope it rains tomorrow, I can get a lot of writing done
  • I hope it stops raining, I can get to the vineyard to write something
  • I hope this editing lark is worth it
  • I hope I get published one day
  • I hope the power stays on
  • I hope my brain can cope with the extra workload
  • I hope my blogging friends are OK
  • I hope this WIP gets finished this year
  • I hope I show and not tell
I hope you are all happy with where you are in your writing life at the moment.

How do you use your four letter word - Hope?

hahaha! I wonder how many other people out there can relate to "I hope the power stays on"? :)

My hope list is also endless. But with writing, it's pretty much I hope readers can relate to this.

Hope is so full of expectation and promise. The list did make me smile, I have friends who live in rural Spain so I know about their power-outs.
I'm in Cyprus with school at the end of the month - the Cypriot school plan to take us to the mountains and a resort etc as well as observe lessons and meet children. I'll be thinking of you while I'm there. :)
Oh dear, Word Verification: guttrot? I hope not. :)

Elaine, how wonderful for you all. If you are going to the Troodos mountains, you will be on top of Cyprus. Are you going to be on the Southern side? Where are you staying?
It is getting hotter now.

Ooer...guttrot!

Thanks for visiting today.

I very much like your Hope list.

I just read the Red Pencil critique of your WIP, Ripper My Love. It was an excellent critique, and I think you have an intriguing story. Keep writing!!!

I see you have dropped your earlier blog photo, but I really like the photo of you on Emily Bryan's blog. And don't ever delete this stunning picture of your "Home." on this blog.

I also just viewed the pictures of "the wedding." Looks like it was a lovely day for everyone. Thanks for sharing. I like the personal touch. I don't stay with blogs where the author won't even identify himself/herself. It's people (and writing) that interest me.

Great list. I think we've all hoped for many of these things many times.
Thanks for making me smile.

Jenn, me too! Thanks for visiting and comment.

Anne, I love the personal touch as well. Thank you for your encouraging words. I am debating whether to use the 'new' picture of me.

I hope your days are good ones.
