No...not the blog change, (going for Victorian look). Who couldn't resist playing with the new display Blogger offers?
Nor have I submitted my MS to an agent.
No, I have done something stupid, silly, crazy, scary, nail-bitingly bonkers!
Oh, you guessed...so you have done NaNoWriMo yourself then.
Seriously, I don't know what I was thinking. I am not sure what to expect. It has taken me two years to churn out 80,000, and I am going to try for 50,000 in one month? Who am I kidding? My birthday is Halloween so I won't be celebrating with village wine. I will need my wits about me for the following day.
I want to do this for my dad. He will never know, but I feel it is a challenge sent my way, from him.
I will need NaNoWriMo buddies, I am certain. My name there is Nissi, will you hold my hand please?

PS: What do you think?

Oh, good luck! What an undertaking. I thought about it then decided no. I think I like by Glynis Smy. I like the name Glynis. I think it's distinctive.

It will be interesting to see what happens.
Glynis is a Welsh name. I, however am named after the actress Glynis Johns, my father was her silver service steward onboard ship in the 1950's.
You can do it!!
Alex, where do you get your confidence in me, from? LOL
Thanks for the push, I do have several months to psych myself up for it.
I did it for the first time last year and at times it was excruciatingly difficult but at other times I surprised myself and found it really motivating. It helped me to write without censure or fear and I've recently finished the full draft (110000) words of the nanowrimo novel. I never would have had that otherwise so I would definately say yes. And I'll be there with you!
How wonderful Alison, I know you have children, so it must have been hard.
Thanks for being there with me! I looked at the calendar and wanted to pull November out. LOL
I think it's a great idea. It's too easy to procrastinate writing so the pressure of 30 days gets us going. I did it last year, wrote a draft that I've been revising. I want it done so I can start a new one in November.
Karen, I agree it will be the push I need. I am sure it will be fun. See you there!
I did it once! I didn't quite finish but it got my novel off the ground, so good luck :o)
I like Glynis Smy.
Thanks Karen! I have a feeling it will feel like a cold, peanut butter spreading challenge...lol
Glynis Smy = 5 (adding local friend votes to the poll)
G J Smy = 2
Good luck with Nanowrimo Glynis. I am sure you can write 50 000 words in a month.
Yes, best of luck! And don't forget to submit your manuscript. You have so much going on that it's just got to pay off.
Loree, you have so much confidence in me. I wish I did...lol
Rick, thank you for your support! I will get the ms out there sometime soon.
Heavens, Glynis, it was all I could do to get that poetry book out. By the way, I so enjoyed your book. It was absolutely wonderful and I have passed it on to friend and fellow poet and blogger, Joanne Olivieri, aka Poetic Shutterbug.
Carmen, I know I am mad, crazy mad!
Thanks for the compliment about my book. I know Joanne, bless her she chose me as a winner for a poem on her blog.
I am chomping at the bit, your book is not going to arrive until late July here in Cyprus. Did you see it on my poetry blog? It is on display in side bar. :)
We must be on the same page, Glynis, I just signed up, but I may not be able to participate because I have a day job. I just figured out, it's only about 1600 words a day, but that's hard to do unless you just write gibberish. But if I do, I can be a nono buddy.
yeah Elizabeth! I think the point of NaNoWriMo is to just write, then sit back and scratch your head. LOL
I am looking at it as practice, a workshop for my mind. Find me and buddy up with me just so we don't look like newbie loners, LOL:)
It will be interesting to see what happens.
