Well what a day to finish writing my novel. OH DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME?
I HAVE FINISHED MY NOVEL!
Ripper, My Love by Glynis Smy really exists, it is not in my mind. If it never gets published, that is fine, I have achieved what I set out to do. I am a writer an author of books (well 1 and a tiddley bit).
Despite my fears of not being able to complete the targeted 80,000 words, then losing 25,000 (what a day that was), I have finished on 80,450. All edits are complete, the query letter is finished and the synopsis will be tweeked over the next few days.
From concept to completion it has been 18 months. Now I am ready to hunt for an agent, I have my eye on a couple, but as you know I am now going to target the US, so am browsing at the moment. August should see me submit for the first time.
My problem is I have written myself out of my original genre. It started out as an Historical Romance, and is now an Historical Romance Thriller or Suspense. Any links to agents you have come across in this genre will be gratefully received.
Thank you all for your support and kind words during the whole process, now can I ask you do the same again for book 2, Ripped Genes?

Congratulations - that is great news.
Great news, Glynis. Do you know the percentage of people who actually FINISH a novel? (Writing it, I mean!)It's tiny. So that's a matter of congratulation alone. And I love the title. The greatest of good luck with it.
Congrats on finishing the novel. What a great accomplishment for you. Good luck with the query and the rest of the publication process. :)
Glynnis- come join http://accentuatewriters.com. Michy Devon, owner, has lots of hints on writing good queries. You can get support from others, free critiques of sections in a password protected section (if you are brave), and lists of opportunities. It has really gotten me back into a semi-serious writing groove. I don't say this because I get something if you join, I have just found it a very helpful community.
Congratulations! Great news. :)
I am so happy for you! Isn't it such a great feeling to have completed it? 18 months. But now comes the harder part, as "they" all say - finding that agent. My thoughts and hopes are with you for your success.
Congratulation! I knew you could do it.
Congratulations!
Was there ever a doubt? (Don't answer that and stop thinking those nasty things about me.)
Best of luck with the rest of the process.
Woohooo! Congrats, Glynis, that's huge. :-)

Jessica (AA) I need those positive thoughts, thanks!
Jemi, it feels a huge quest at the moment, thanks for your encouragement.
Helen, cute? Oh, no I am not going for cute. It is the follow on from Ripper, My Love. I don't know though, maybe it will be the cute part of the two. When I thought of RML, Ripped Genes followed on a few days later. I am glad you like it, I am fond of it too. :) Thanks for your support.
Loribeth, yes a lifetime dream come true. Thanks for visiting today.

Yay! Congrats. :)
Whoo-hoo! Good job! I'll email a few tips about American Agents. Who knows, I might even send you a directory.
