This is what happened in my house yesterday morning:
Are you feeling happier this morning dear? Coffee?
Thanks DH. Not really. Fed up.
Over the rejections?
No, they are the least of my problems.
Did you finish that question thingy you had to write for agents.
Uh?
You know, the letter.
Query letter, yeah got loads of them on file now. No it's getting organised, vista is playing me up.
I have yWriter on, but I get a glitch with that, vista and my word program.
I'll have a look for you if you want.
*snort* I taught you how to turn the main PC on, what do you know?
Well, fresh eyes, you know.
OK, I will go for a swim, you look BUT DO NOT TOUCH my files.
~~~
Enjoy your swim?
Lovely, you done my laptop yet?
Mm, sort of.
That sounds like the voice of confidence, what have you done.
Nothing, well sort of nothing.
O---Kayee sort of nothing, what sort of nothing haven't you done?
Switch it on and see.
Buzz, whirr.
What's MyNovel?
I bought it for you. It is like word and yWriter all in one and is vista friendly. I have been researching into stuff for a few days. If you don't want it, don't use it. It was cheap and I thought you might like it. There is club/forum thingy for you to join too. I thought with Jan...well you know. And that ningynano thing you are doing later...
Mwah! I love you DH.
Now as you know I have sung the praises of yWriter for some time now. This is very much like it. MyNovel has a free trial, but I have the real thing. It is brilliant with ideas and inspiration button for when you get stuck. It composes synopisis and query letter ideas as you get further into the novel. My laptop is not jumping or losing work, so it is running well with vista. Anyway for the money, I am happy and focused again. This is not an advertisement just my opinion and I wouldn't have seen it if it hadn't been for DH. Bless him, red roses and champagne man he is not, but I can't write with them!
Well, my desktop computer is Vista (wanted to buy an XP but they're not making them anymore, naturally); and now, just recently, Vista has zapped my printer so I've had to plug it into my old laptop where it works! Which means I have to copy what I want to print onto my SanDisk then put that in the laptop. Sigh, sigh. I've found that others--I've googled them--have had this same problem and can't "fix" it.
Send DH over!!
Hope you have a more sane weekend.
Ann
Sorry Ann, he is all mine LOL.
I have heard frustrating things from other folk about the same problem. Windows 7 is supposed to be great. We have xp on the main computer with no issues. Still I am happy at the moment.
Great to see you, thanks for visiting me today.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate. All that means is that glitches in Vista are "moving on up" as the Jefferson's used to say.
orry but I had to laugh at you day. You made it so funny. :)
New and improved glitches, lol Mary.
Glad I made you smile, it is what our home is like with DH n me. :)
Computer problems sure slow down any writer. It's wonderful that your DH took the time to help out & get you a new program.
MyNovel sounds very helpful on a lot of levels. Especially if it can be of assistance w/ query letters & synopses!
Yay! I have to take my PC in for a cleanup, it is so slow. I love your conversational slang, I have to read it like a foriegn language!
My California coastal inland hills look like your home in Cypress.
Happy writing and thanks for following!
fondly,
Lisa, it was such a lovely surprise. I am pleased with it so far, if it keeps going it can stay. :) Thanks for visiting me today.
Hi Dianne. Well I can say I like California but have never been, lol.
I added my poetry blog link to your comments, I think that blog will be of more interest to you. I enjoy your work. :) Thanks for visiting me today.
I was born in California, does that count? Okay, on topic, give that guy a big hug, they aren't all that supportive.
See, I knew there was a reason I like California! I am lucky Nadine. He is hard work at times, but supports my writing 100%. *hug given*. :)
