Meet The Important Ones!

Meet The Important Ones!

Hello I am Powered Up

Just dropping by during our power up time.

I have been planning novel three. It started out as The Man in Room Eighteen but now might be called The Men in Room Eighteen. I had a bit of a brainwave with the plot and it would mean a title change.

Elle Buchanan is my new POV. She is very artistic and poor. She lives in Heacham, Norfolk UK during the Victorian era. Her artistic flair will take her to Hunstanton, Norfolk UK, about three miles along the road.

She has no friends at present. Her parents have run away and left her alone at the age of sixteen. She is a good girl. So far that is all I know about her.
This is how I visualise her:

Oh and by the way...Ripper, My Love has been called for as a full so please keep your fingers crossed!

Must dash, I have ironing to do before the next cut.

Excellent news about your novel - I really will cross my fingers for you... there, I did (I'm very superstitious about finger-crossing). Good luck!

Go Ripper -- err, you know what I mean.
Ironing? I can think of better ways to use power. I had no idea people still ironed on a regular basis. I'll make a note of that for reference not for doing. :D

Charmaine and Karen, thanks! x

Mary, lol. I am only ironing cotton clothes because I am off to docs, and it is hot down town. A rare event I can tell you! Thanks for the support! :)

Glad you're back online & hope you can be on regularly.

Rm. 18 sounds intriguing & I have a feeling that 3 miles back then is a lot further than it is now.

Congrats on Ripper getting summoned! Sure hope you get good news about your baby, I mean your book, very soon.

Congrats on the full! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. :)

"called for as a full " - what does this mean?

Hi Glynis .. so pleased about the 'full' call - that's great .. and all your other sparks of ideas ..

.. then you have to cut off because power is needed to do the ironing - bet you're learning not to waste electricity ... perhaps some tips here? Prepare, focus and complete.

Are you on set on off times?

Cheers ... Hilary

Alex, thanks!

Karen, ah bless you, thanks. It is good to be back even for a bit each day.

Loree, thanks. We are coping well, thanks.

Lisa, three miles would have been walked and for me it would have felt like twelve! LOL I am not a walker. Thanks, it was good to get a full call, helps the confidence.

Kathi, thanks but uncross them when you need to write your fabulous books!

Joan, I submitted a query and three chapters at the request of the publisher. The aquisitions editor liked what they read and have now asked to read the full manuscript. Quite something in this day and age of limited offers. I am hoping there might be an offer to publish, if not I will cry first and try again later! However it might not be to their taste. :)

Hilary, thanks! We have been told today we will have a regular two hour powercut every day. This is good news and will not disrupt our life. It also means I can ignore the ironing again! LOL. I will say it has made us more aware of switching off stand-by plugs and not wasting time.

Thank you lovely people for visiting me, and for your encouragement. ♥x

I really like that picture that visualizes your heroine. If I ever write fiction, I might try this, too--finding a picture.

Oh awesome! All of my fingers are crossed!! Is this possible? Yes, it is. I can do it in my head!!!

So glad you had some power up to post this, and to comment on my blog. Your suggestion re: my second memoir to perhaps write a "diary" entry every day is a brilliant one. I think it could work to get me into the early childhood stuff I need to write. That's the period about which I don't have anything written.

Thank you!!! (Hope you got that ironing done. I shudder to think what my daughter and I would do to survive in this awful heat wave if OUR power went out!)

This sounds like a novel after my own heart, at least after my love of BBC dramas. Pleased to meet you Glynis. I'm here via Angela Felsted, via Jim Murdoch.

What an odd collection of links in the blogosphere, all meshed together by our shared love of words.

Thanks, Angela. x It is horrible waiting and watching the email inbox!

Ann, I find it so useful. If I get stuck at all I just look at the picture and visualise. It releases block. I am glad you found my suggestion of diary writing useful. Good luck. Thanks for your support and encouragement. Hi to Jen. x

Welcome, Elisabeth! How lovely to meet you. I agree it is wonderful how we are all pulled together with words.

My novels remind me of BBC Drama's which I love. Not that they will ever become one, but one can dream. LOL.

Thank you for visiting and becoming an Important One.

Teresa, thanks it is not doing my nerves any good watching the email inbox!

Helen, many thanks!

Len, I was excited too! Hunstanton is a place I visited many times and was drawn to write into the novel. Elle is a pretty name and I just had to use it.

Missed Periods, thanks. Remember to uncross them to write though!

Thank you all for visiting me. x♥
