Meet The Important Ones!

Meet The Important Ones!

Wide Smiles and Boosted Ego...Plus My Writing Week

What a week I have had. I received an email from a poet/singer/songwriter in New York. She had read my 400 word poem One Night Stand and approached me about using it for her work. Negotiations are ongoing. What will come of it I do not know but it did boost my ego. As did the award sign on the right-hand sidebar. As did finding out my poetry blog was nominated no:36 to be read during National Poetry Week. It was in April and I did not have a clue I had been selected.

No news on Ripper, My Love. It takes time to write a book and my patience has been with this one for nigh on four years. So pray tell me why can't I wait a few weeks for news from agents and publishers without checking the inbox every hour?

Maggie's Child is in its sixth edit phase. I am quite pleased with the new changes. Looking back at my first draft I can see that I had gone straight from A - B. Now I have taken side roads and woven in new paths to follow. The outcome is a wholesome read, not a beginning with an end.

The Man (or Men) in Room Eighteen. This is moving forward slowly. Purely because those I contacted for research information have not replied. It is frustrating as I cannot find the minute tid-bits of information I need on the Internet. Never mind I am returning to the UK in September so will see what I can do from there. If not I will move towns and try Elle Buchanan in a new setting. That is the joy of writing we can adapt our characters to suit our needs at times.

I am now researching Victorian artist materials, Victorian education laws and other interesting topics. At the end of the month I start a short creative writing course on-line. I need to open up a few blocked channels in my brain. So while I am not here and powered up you can see I am not wasting my time.

What are you up to? Tell me your news? Share your boosted ego moments, I would love to hear them.

Hi Glynis! Thanks for stopping by my blog and reading my attempt at a poem. I feel quite inspired reading all you've been up to and your hopes and dreams. I wish you well with your editing and polishing. Nothing great was ever crafted in a hurry.

I'm just back from overseas, all fired up to edit my 2 mss, but due to other pressures I haven't got down to it yet, but I will!

Congratulations! You have a lot to whoohoo about! I really don't have anything to report aside from having poems published in a poetry journal this year. I keep sending out my PBs and MG manuscript. I either get a rejection or hear nothing at all back. I'll keep trying, though.
