Positive Thinking: "I may be short but I am taller than my dogs"
Presenting...Vine Leaves Literary Journal...Find My Published Entry!
Today is the launch day of Vine Leaves Literary Journal. The acquisitions team have worked hard reading over 150 entries and I am proud to say, I was one of the chosen.
My piece-Orgasmic Achiever- is inspired from a piece of writing I scribbled down after I finished my first novel, Ripper, My Love. I climbed the hill in the vineyard, and sat under the tree in the picture. I needed to be alone. I wanted to celebrate in a quiet moment, just for me. I had a jubilant feeling that needed to be shouted out of me. The glorious feeling of finally achieving my goal of a lifetime. The moment was mine alone before I shared it with DH and others. I jumped and shouted out the news to the Cypriot hills. (Later that day I cried under the same tree when news of my mentor's passing was sent to me. She would have been so proud of me today). Anyway, back to my piece... I had a clear out and sort out of files and came across my words written that morning. I had named it Private Party. Not really sure what I would do with it, I decided that rather than hitting delete, I should move it to a file for reviewing at a later date. I am so thrilled I did. After submitting, the editing team came back to me expressing interest. However, I had to tweak it around a bit. I did so, and got an email telling me they liked it so much they wanted to publish it in the first edition. Moral of my tale? Never discard a piece of writing.
So here is the link to the contents of the #1 issue of a very different literary journal. Enjoy!
