Meet The Important Ones!

Meet The Important Ones!

I'm Back With a Surprise!

Thank you all for your messages. Today my friend entered the hospice for her final journey. It is now a case of waiting for a phone call and silent visits. Her strength of character and fight for life made me look at mine. I do not want to waste my life or time, and have spent a busy few days re-evaluating. These past two years have seen me lose several dear, close friends and I am thankful my health is good. My weight became an issue, so I have been on a healthy eating plan and lost a vast amount of weight since January. The healthier I feel, the more confidence I have gained, and this includes within my writing life. The reading material and information I have been ploughing through is finally sinking in, and I feel ready to become a published author.

I knew I needed help with cover creation, and the fantastic Talli Roland and Heather Woods were there with their knowledge and guidance. Heather creates graphics and websites for a living and I can recommend her, she has so much patience.

This week the cover has finally been finished and is now ready to be shared with you all. It will be a little while before the book is ready (I'm a plodder as you know), but I am on the right track.

Now some of you will look at the cover and think I have a typo on the top line. No, it is the way we Brits do things. An historical and not a historical. No doubt this will be something the 'critiquing readers with sharp knives', will tear the book apart for in a few months. I can live with that.

Something else that has given me more courage is the knowledge that I am not alone when it comes to typo errors. I am bound to have missed something in my ms, and have surely committed grammar sins. However, while reading a beautiful book published by one of the BIG houses, I found three errors, naughty errors, jump out at you errors. So I thought, to heck with it all, I am ready to share with the world.

Here is the cover!

I can't stop staring at it. So many scenes are rolled up in this image, and it is just how I envisaged it all from the day I wrote the first words four years ago.

Been MIA for quite a while and I must say this was a great way to start blog reading again.
So sorry about your friend. I've been following that same route with my friends.
Now the cover --- It's been a long time since a cover moved me to buy a book.
I LOVE THIS COVER!!!
No wonder you're sharing it everywhere.

It's a mesmerizing cover, Glynis! Too many people weight typo mistakes and grammar issues too high. I'm glad you're at ease, and so sorry to hear about your friend..

The cover is gorgeous. And you're right. You'll always find typos. I just gave a list to Janice to correct when she starts working on my ebook. Maybe by then, no one will find anymore.

Yes, losing a friend is life changing. A woman I knew for years and years died last week after a 6-year battle with ALS. I can't stop thinking about it. It has affected in so many ways. Mainly I know to live as fully as I can.

All best, and congratulations on your book. xoxo

That staircase reminds me of an old Maltese house. Good for you Glynis. I am sure you are doing what's best for you and I am very happy for you.
