For some strange reason Blogger has been playing me around recently. Posts to be scheduled never got done and comments never got loaded. I had emails from friends letting me know their comments weren't showing. I have had problems loading posts and pictures recently, and it is frustrating the * out of me! I do not want to move the blog over to Wordpress, but if it has to be ...

Anyway, I am going to launch Win A Signed Copy of 'Ripper, My Love,' again. I think it is only fair. This time all I ask is that you find my email address on this blog and leave me your name with ' I would love to win RML' in the subject line.

I will leave the post running for a week, so get emailing me! It has 5* reviews (check out the review page at top of blog), and looks pretty on the coffee table, so worth the effort even if you never read it!

Thanks for stopping by, Glynis. I'm getting excited for my last and 8th grandchild, a boy, that will make 3 granddaughters, 5 grandsons. You know how exciting a grand-baby is!

Hope you've had a great June in Cyprus. Don't know what weather conditions have been over there. Not too bad, I hope....

As for Blogger: now that I'm halfway back, I've noticed how many bloggers have been having troubles with it. Arlee Bird posted a comment on my WP that went into my spam. I don't think that's WP's problem; I think it's Blogger's! I had to get some help getting my WP blog up -- I'm so NOT a technie. But if Blogger gets too bad, well, what's one to do. If *I* could figure out how to do WP, you can too!!

It is difficult to pigeonhole this marvellous debut by Glynis Smy into the standard historical/romance genre but in my opinion, the book is such a tour de force of dramatic and evocative storytelling that it doesn't matter at all.
The writing gives a very strong sense of the era in which it is set, Jack the Ripper's Victorian London; you can almost smell and see the fog. The author also presents us with a very strong courageous and sympathetic heroine in Kitty with two enigmatic suitors, Arthur and James. To say anymore would spoil the plot which pulls no punches and is full of interesting twists.
Not for the faint hearted, it will keep you on the edge of your seat; I could not put it down and read in one session. It has it all tragedy, murder, romance.. what's not to like?
An outstanding debut I look forward to Ms Smy's next work.
